I bet you like to make stuff. Your kids like to make stuff. If I asked you, you would probably admit that you dream of learning to crochet, draw, sculpt, make birdhouses, etch glass, photography, make websites, or some other art or craft. Maybe you have a Pinterest account full of ideas and inspiration, but have few completed projects and rarely carve out the time to pursue these dreams. I get you - I'm like that too.
Hi, I'm Sara Lorien Smith. I'm a lifelong hobby crafter who has dabbled in many mediums, but never become an expert in any except for web design which I do professionally. I love to craft - I find it incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. Yet, I don't do it very often. I've talked to countless others who also love crafting, but rarely do it. I've pondered what barriers are preventing us from pursuing our passions:
- Limited time to research, plan, and/or shop for supplies
- Not having the space to work on projects
- Wanting to do crafts with others
- Not wanting to cleanup
- Not wanting to invest in the tools needed for a new craft that you're not yet sure you'll enjoy
- Fear of failure. Expecting your projects to look Pinterest-perfect.
Dream Maker Creative mission is to remove these barriers to creativity and make it easy for people of all ages to come together in the spirit of DIY. Everyone can be a maker!
Our warm and inviting studio space provides our customers access to a variety of high-quality art and craft supplies and tools. Customers can pursue their own idea from our curated selection of supplies, or work from one of our kits and weekly/monthly specials. Most of our projects are oriented towards beginners, though you're always welcome to kick it up a notch and add your own advanced spin to any creation. We provide support, assistance, and camaraderie with others who share the maker spirit.
For highly experience makers and crafters, we offer assistance with selling and marketing your creations online and provide opportunities to expand into teaching. We are always seeking guest teachers to bring their expertise to our community.
