Dive into the world of fabric dyeing as you learn the basics of shibori style using indigo, a beautiful and timeless pigment. Explore the rich history and vibrant possibilities of this ancient dyeing technique as you learn to transform plain fabrics into stunning works of art. Through hands-on demonstrations and guided experimentation, participants will explore various folding, twisting, and binding techniques to create exquisite patterns on fabric. We will provide 3 28×28 cotton tea towels for you to make during class. These can be used as intended, or as fabric for your other creative projects. Additionally, each participant may bring 1 small cotton item of their own, such as a shirt or pillow case to dye or purchase a blank item from us to dye. We carry table runners, placemats, pillow covers, tote bags, and extra tea towels.
This workshop is for ages 12 to adult, but minors must attend with an adult. Pre-registration required to hold your spot.
