Dream Maker Creative is expanding our class and camp offerings for youth ages 8 to 16 and we need you to help make this happen.

In this part-time role, you will help plan, prep, and conduct youth enrichment classes including STEAM (science, tech, engineering, art and math), crafts, creative writing, entrepreneurship and more. You do not have to know all these topic areas, but should be someone who is curious, creative, and able to use and apply existing lesson plans. We are mostly using curriculum already developed except for the crafts which we've got covered. Our ideal teacher would have experience working with kids in a teaching or leadership role, have a passion for learning and fun that is contagious, be an excellent communicator with both kids and parents, be organized, punctual, and reliable, and have a growth mindset. There's some flexibility to structure this as a Lead or Assistant level position depending on your experience.

We will be running 3 to 4 weeks of half day camps this summer, plus afternoon teen classes. Generally Mon-Thurs. You'd be co-teaching along with the owner and we can trade off who takes the lead for different topics depending on comfort level. But we're hoping for someone who can take on more responsibility in time and reduce the owner's workload. We will be continuing with youth classes in the fall on Weds. and/or Thurs. afternoons and would love someone who could continue on with us during the school year.

This would be a great position for a home-school parent (esp. with coop teaching experience or college education), an upper elementary or middle school teacher or para looking to pickup a side income, or a college student pursuing a career in education. Minimum age is 18. A background check and proof of Covid vaccination will be required for this position.

This position will start with a few flexible hours per week in May and June 2022 for training and summer planning. Classes and camps will be held in July and August with roughly 15-20 hours during camp weeks, 3-4 hours for prep during non-camp weeks, and 5-8 hours per week in the fall for classes. Weekends are not required for this position, however there may be opportunity for you to pickup additional hours to help with events, retail sales, private parties, or do production work for our craft products. Pay is $15-$20 DOE.
