Do you love the boldness and beauty of hand dyed fabrics? But maybe you’ve tried it and found it to be overly involved and messy. In this workshop, we’ll present a dye method that is fast, low fuss and offers tons of flexibility. You’ll have the freedom to create stunning designs using classic binding and resist methods or explore a more fluid “watercolor” style. We will demonstrate a number of design strategies, discuss color choices, cover process and materials, then set you free to create several sample designs.
Your class fee includes 2 large plain bandanas (1 each silk and cotton). Additionally, you may bring something light colored to dye such as a shirt, tote bag, pillow case, etc. Please do not bring large or expensive items to dye – class time is short and you might want to take more time and care for such items.
Prepaid ticket required to hold your spot. Ages 10+ may participate with adult attendee (both must be ticketed).
This special class is being held at the Spring Maker’s Market at the Gig Harbor Civic Center on Saturday May 11th at 12:15pm. It is part of a series of short 1 hour classes being held that day, and sponsored by Local Makers Gig Harbor.
