Most classes are held at Dream Maker Creative, an art studio located in north Gig Harbor/Key Peninsula area. Check out directions and studio photos here. However, we do hold classes at breweries, shops, community centers, etc. throughout Kitsap, Pierce, and Mason counties so always check the location.
Advanced payment/registration is required to hold your spot and will close 72 hours before the event (sometimes extended). No drop-ins, unless you've checked with us and confirmed it's okay. For most adult classes, teens aged 12+ are welcome to attend with a parent/guardian. Classes where this is not the case will be noted. Classes that don't meet the minimum number of attendees may be cancelled and refunded.

This beginner-friendly workshop introduces students to the art of macramé while creating a functional and decorative plant hanger. Designed for those with no prior experience, the class covers foundational macramé techniques including measuring and cutting cord, square knot, half-hitch, wrapping knot, and finishing methods. Students will learn how to start and end a project cleanly and will be guided in customizing their plant hangers length, knot placement, and overall style. By the end of class, each participant will complete at least one macramé plant hanger suitable for indoor use.
This class is held in partnership with Olympic College Continuing Education. It is not eligible for use with Dream Maker gift cards or discounts.

Craft a stunning, one-of-a-kind living succulent wreath at this workshop using real plants. Discover how to create, plant, and maintain your wreath throughout the changing seasons in Washington. All materials will be provided, including an 18″ grapevine wreath form and 10-12 succulent plants of varying sizes. If desired, bring your own gardening gloves.

Join us for a relaxed, creative evening at Silver City Brewery as we design beautiful succulent terrariums in a 6×6 glass cylinder. You’ll learn how to layer your container with soil, rocks, pebbles, and moss to create a healthy foundation, then finish it off with a curated selection of succulents and air plants.
To make your piece truly one of a kind and add a little sparkle and personality, top it off with some “plant jewelry” made from an assortment of fire glass, beads, wire, and charms.

Learn the art of baking delicious sourdough bread in this hands-on workshop. Baking bread is both science and craft and you’ll learn the secrets to creating delicious and crusty loaves. This workshop will cover creating and nurturing a sourdough starter, tools and equipment, ingredients, prep, baking and troubleshooting. We will sample a variety of fresh sourdough loaves to talk about variations in taste and texture. During the workshop, we will mix, prep, and shape dough to take and bake at home the following day.
Your class fee includes a glass jar with sourdough starter, a proofing basket to use and keep, plus written instructions and recipes. Students need to bring 1) a large mixing bowl 2) a kitchen towel 3) an apron (optional). At home, you will need a Dutch oven or roasting pan with lid that can be safely heated to 450 degrees.

Discover the art of eco-printing in this hands-on class that covers both the bundle/steaming and pounding methods of transferring print to fabric. Using natural leaves and flowers, you’ll learn to create color and pattern. This DIY experience offers a relaxing way to connect with nature while crafting unique, usable art. Perfect for beginners and those looking to explore sustainable dyeing techniques. In class, you’ll make 2 tea towels and a farmer’s market tote bag. All materials provided. Please do not bring fabrics of your own, as fabrics need to be prepped ahead of class time (but you’ll learn what to do for future projects). You may bring your own fresh or dried botanicals, but you may be surprised that many don’t transfer color as you’d expect!
Ages 12+ are welcome with adult.

Discover the art of leather working in this beginner-level, hands-on workshop designed to build confidence and spark creativity. Over four engaging hours, you’ll learn the essential skills behind quality leather craft, including material selection, cutting, tooling and stamping, edge finishing, dyeing, hand stitching, and setting simple hardware. The class starts with a small practice project such as a bookmarks or key-chain before you choose and create a larger piece. Options include a 4×6 journal cover, knife sheath, or a smart phone cross-body or belt pouch. With guided instruction and all materials included, you will leave with new skills and a handcrafted project you can be proud of.
This workshop is taught by Dream Maker Creative, but held at and ticketed through Olympic College Continuing Education. It is not eligible for use with Dream Maker gift cards.

This lovely 3 part sun-catcher will pick up even filtered light when hung in your kitchen or bathroom window. This project incorporates colored glass cabochons held together with UV resin inside 3 3-inch stainless steel metal rings. You’ll learn how to work with this kind of resin, which is quick curing under ultraviolet light. And you’ll piece it all together using jump rings and jewelry pliers. We’ll also discuss other appropriate projects that utilize UV resin and how to color the resin if you choose.
This class is for ages 12 to adult, but all participants must have a paid ticket. Class is held at Dream Maker Creative in Gig Harbor (Key Peninsula).

Step into a world of creativity and imagination as you design your own miniature fairy garden to take home. In this hands-on workshop, you will build a charming portable garden in a 16-inch planter, filled with lush moss, live succulents, and natural landscaping materials.
You will also learn how to transform recycled jars into enchanting fairy cottages using clay/cement, stones, and laser-cut window and door details. Add personality to your garden by crafting tiny features such as furniture, steps, swings, bridges, and tree stumps using clay and natural materials. Each garden becomes a unique little landscape full of texture and character.
All materials are provided, including plants, moss, cottage supplies, and decorative elements. Participants are welcome to bring small plants or special adornments if they would like to personalize their garden.

During the workshop, we will bake and eat a loaf that’s been prepared the previous day, while starting your own dough to take and bake at home the following day. You’ll go home with a starter kit including a glass jar with our well developed starter, a proofing basket, a razor for scoring, baking parchment, written instructions, plus the dough you made in class.
Please bring the following supplies to class: 1) a large mixing bowl 2) a kitchen towel 3) an apron (optional). We will have spatulas, scales, measuring cups, etc. for class
At home, you will need a dutch oven or roasting pan with lid that can bake to 450 degrees.

Learn beginner resin skills while creating your choice of a bamboo serving board or tray that’s perfect for charcuterie or a pair of 15oz stemless wine glasses. Several styles of boards will be available plus a 14×10 tray. You can create a beautiful ocean-inspired design or create a color scheme and design of your choice. In this hands-on session, we’ll guide you through the step-by-step process of working with epoxy resin, pigments, and various techniques for achieving a mesmerizing aesthetic. As a bonus, you’ll get to practice with two bamboo coasters before moving on to your main project.
All resin projects will need to stay with us to cure and boards/coasters may need a second coat and/or sanding. Projects will be ready for pickup in 5-7 days after class.
This workshop is for ages 16+. Space is limited and pre-registration required. We need to know your project choice ahead of time in order to be setup and ready to go at class time. So please give us a count for the people you are registering for.

Learn how to make beautiful coiled fabric baskets using just rope and scrap fabric in this hands-on workshop. We’ll show you the techniques to create unique and functional baskets for organizing your home. No experience necessary, just a desire to create!
We will have a variety of fabric scraps available for your use, but you may bring some fabrics from home. Lightweight quilting fabric is best for this project. Usable scraps will be 3/4 inch to 2 inch wide strips that are six inches or longer, but you could also just bring a few fat eights or fat quarters and we can prepare the strips in class.
We’ll probably not complete the baskets in class unless you make a mini one. But you’ll go home with the skill and enough supplies to finish on your own.
